Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Noel Alvarez and I’m an Information Technology (IT) professional who is passionate about technology. Having worked in IT for ten years I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience and I hope to share that with others.
I created this blog to give back to the IT community as well as chronicle my journey to becoming a Systems Architect. I believe that progression consists of education, experimentation, and experience. Therefore, I’m constantly learning, completing labs, and seeking to implement solutions on the job.
As stated previously, I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience in my ten years as an IT professional. This has primarily focused on, but not limited to, servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technology. While I do consider myself proficient with these technologies, I know there is still much room for growth. With that said, my goal is to obtain the following certifications. Why? Because they demonstrate ambition, a willingness and ability to learn, and a validation of skills.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
I don’t believe that certifications make an individual an expert, I believe that comes from real world experience, but they are valuable and I enjoy the challenge and journey of earning them.
